Go Girl Ep 7: Adina Howard Talks Self Love, Meditation, Music And Knowing Your Worth

Adina Howard gave us the hits, “Freak Like Me” and “T-Shirt & Panties” during a time where it was taboo for women to talk about sex. She’s comfortable in her own skin and doesn’t shy away from expressing herself through her songs.

From singing in church to singing secular music, I wanted to know the reaction of those who grew up with her when they heard her lyrics. There was only one family member who didn’t agree with her choices at the time, but that didn’t stop Howard from being herself.

We had girl talk about the absence of her father and what effect that had on her life.  We also discussed the importance of meditation, self care and knowing your worth. She says,  “If you don’t do no self work, you have no self worth.” Ain’t that the truth. She dropped so many gems.
