“Oooohh, ladies first. Ladies first!” Yes!

I’m SO here for this! After six years, VH1 Hip Hop Honors is making a comeback and recognizing the women in the rap game!  That’s what I’m talking about! Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott are named honorees on VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queens, which airs July 11 at 9 p.m. ET.

With me doing #PropsToWomenInHipHop you can only imagine how happy I am that women  are shown some love in the music industry! Get it, ladies!

Missy Elliott’s “style can’t be duplicated or recycled!” Elliott exemplifies a true risk taker and  trend maker.  She came out with a plastic trash back as her outfit in her first video, for “The Rain!” She definitely set the tone that she’s going to stay true to who she is and succeed. And she’s doing it!!

Queen Latifah demands respect and “U.N.I.T.Y.!” I LOVE that about her. Plus, she doesn’t believe in limits in her career. Actress.  Singer. Songwriter. Producer. Talk Show Host. Model. The list goes on!

I’m not sure who else will be acknowledged at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors, but these two women already set the bar. I can’t wait to see the show!
