US Weekly reported earlier this week that singer Ciara has called off her engagement to Future. “He cheated on her. Game over,” an insider tells US. Well Ciara posted this on her twitter page the day after: “@usweekly I did not do this interview with you! This is a lie, and tasteless! Must you be that thirsty to create a story?! Unbelievable! Be CLEAR @usweekly. I interviewed with your Beauty Editor about Degree & Mtv HOS. U manipulated my words & took the interview for sensation.” Well that’s that BUT she did not squash the rumor about her and Future being over. There aren’t any recent photos of the two together and no ring on her finger. Hmmmm…
Chris Brown and Trey Songz are going on tour together. And they’re in talks to do a duet together. Nice! I like it when artists in the same genre collab and support each other instead of looking at each other as mere competition. Get it, fellas!
Speaking of Chris Brown, he dropped the video for his latest single, New Flame, featuring Usher and Rick Ross. Watch here:
Usher is also in more news after having an interview with Oprah’s O Magazine. The R&B crooner said, “getting married at 28 years old is his “best” mistake”. “Most people probably think I regret it because I ended up getting divorced, but it helped me learn that sometimes I think I know more than I actually do.” I get it. We all learn from our experiences. I just want to know what his ex-wife Tameka has to say. I guess we will see in the upcoming season of VH1-s “Atlanta Exes” which premiers Monday, August 18th. The show also features the exes of Kevin Hart, Ne-Yo, CeeLo Green and more. Should be interesting.
Nicki Minaj was added to the performance lineup at the MTV Video Music Awards set to air on August 24 at the Forum in Inglewood, CA. She will perform her new single, “Anaconda” but like I told you last week, Beyoncé is also on the lineup. I wonder if the two will perform their “Flawless” remix. I guess we will have to wait and see!
Comedian and Actor Robin Williams has passed away. Reports state that he committed suicide after battling depression. Very sad news. This tragedy let’s us know that life is short and don’t let money and fame fool you. We are all human facing our individual battles. So I say to you, always encourage others, ask others how they are doing, smile always.
Thousands came together on Thursday night for “National Moment of Silence” where citizens across America gathered in solidarity to hold vigils and observe a moment of silence to honor victims of Police Brutality. This comes after the deaths of Eric Garner, Ezell Ford, John Crawford, and Mike Brown, who are all Black men who lost their lives to the police within the past three weeks. The deaths are senseless and people, including myself, are tired of our brothers and sisters being harassed, humiliated, and murdered by those who are supposed to “serve and protect.” Rest in peace to the men who lost their lives, because there’s no peace in these streets.
