
THE 43RD Annual NAACP Image Awards Nominees’ Pre-show Gala Reception took place on Thursday, February 16, on 2000 Avenue of the Stars in Los Angeles. Robert Townsend, Loretta Devine, Reverend Jesse Jackson and other celebrities attended the star-studded event because they were nominated or just to show their support. The attendees enjoyed a private gathering with hors d’oeuvres, music and entertainment.
The actual Award ceremony was held on Friday, February 17, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. “The Help” had three wins at the NAACP Image Awards, including Top Actress honors for Viola Davis, the Supporting Actress prize for Octavia Spencer and Outstanding Motion Picture. In the television world, “Law & Order: SVU” and “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” won Outstanding Dramatic and Comedic Series categories. Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Tracee Ellis Ross, LL Cool J and Regina King all earned Image Awards in the television acting categories as well. Click HERE for the full list of winners.
