Battle rap is back!
MCing (rapping) is one of the main elements of Hip Hop and we just witnessed a MC rhyme over a dope beat and call out some of his peers. Kendrick Lamar left a jaw-dropping verse on Big Sean’s “Control” and it has people in the hip hop community thinking, “What’s next?…Who’s going to be the first to step up to the plate?”
Check out some of his lyrics: “I’m usually homeboys with the same n*ggas I’m rhymin’ wit, But this is hip hop and them n*ggas should know what time it is. And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron’, Tyler, Mac Miller…I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n*ggas, Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n*ggas, They dont wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you n*ggas. What is competition? I’m tryna raise the bar high. Who tryna jump and get it? You better off tryna skydive.”
Big Daddy Kane tweeted: “ATTENTION M.C.’S: Complaining about @kendricklamar verse on twitter is Gossip. Getting in the studio trying to write a better one is Hip Hop”
Let’s clap one time for hip hop! I’m waiting to see what happens next. Until then, listen to the whole track below and read the lyrics here.
Thoughts??? What do you think about this track? About Kendrick Lamar’s verse?

Everyone he called out is about to come with it. But I hope it doesn’t create a war because I didn’t feel he was being disrespectful, just spicing up the hip hop world. Its not that serious to really start beefing over it.
