Conversations With Caprice: Izova The Khemist

I saw Izova the Khemist perform at a showcase a couple weeks ago and immediately connected with him. His energy had the crowd hype, his music had others bobbing their heads, and his lyrics had a positive message. And of course, his music caught my attention.

In our interview, Izova discussed what people could expect from his 2013 EP, “Growth and Division” which features the singles, “Hero” and “In Due Time.” In the latter song he says, “A couple rappers doing it…I should be ahead of…” so I asked him exactly what rappers he’s referring to. This Watts native also opened up with me about what is missing in hip hop, the challenges of being an indie artist, and his upcoming performances.
