Legendary singer Etta James passed away this morning after fighting a long battle with Leukemia.
The music legend had classics such as “At Last”:
“Tell Mama” (My dad always tells me that my grandma used to sing this to him):
And my favorite, “I’d Rather Go Blind”:
In January 2011, it had been announced that James was diagnosed with Leukemia. In early December, she was under 24-hour care…and on January 5th she was released from the hospital. Fifteen days later and five days before her seventy-fourth birthday, she lost her battle with leukemia and other diseases.
R.I.P. Etta James. She was 73. Gone, but NEVER forgotten.

I was about 18 years old back in 1990 and living on my own when i first heard stop the wedding and i rather go blind those were two of my favorite songs. I read an article about Etta James and she sounded like a pretty bad ass woman, my prayers and thaughts go out to her husband, two sons and her many, many fans…. She will be missed but not forgotten. Rest in peace Etta go be with God.

Etta James, my Favorite Songs r I rather go Blind,All I can do was Cry,Tell Mama, she was my idol, I lived by her Songs,I would b on my way to Work in the Morning listening to her song’s, I just want to send my Thoughts and Prayer’s to Ms. James Husband and Family my Heart goe’s out to your family may the Lord Bless you she left here singing @ Last.
