Ashley Caprice was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She began her radio career while studying Communication Studies and Journalism at California State University, Long Beach. During her sophomore year she joined the campus radio station, KBeach. She entertained her listening audience on her weekly show, “Caprice Classics” where she discussed music and everyday issues. She played hip hop, funk and r&b classics we all grew up with or wished we grew up with…the type of music we wish the radio still played. While a student, she worked as a promotions assistant for 93.1 JACK-FM and later worked for V-100.
After graduating with her B.A. in 2008, Ashley Caprice joined Hot 92.3 and worked her way up to producing the Afternoon Drive with Renee Taylor. She has proven that hard work and dedication pays off. She says, “Stay consistent, offer help, stay overtime, learn as much as you can…and people will take notice of that. Pay your dues so you can get PAID!” In 2015 she became an on-air personality at Real 92.3, and 99.1 KGGI, while producing the afternoon show on 102.7 Kiis-FM. Yes, she was working three jobs at one time! In 2016, Ashley Caprice took a leap of faith and moved her talents to Sacramento where she is now the Morning Show Co-Host on V101, Sacramento’s Throwback Hip Hop and R&B and you can also hear her on Sundays on Jam’n 95.7 in San Diego.
Ashley Caprice is the creator and host of “Conversations with Caprice” where she interviews up-and-coming music artists, community leaders, and entertainers. She’s interviewed Big Boy, Jordin Sparks, Jill Scott, Warren G, Xzibit, Meagan Good, Sanaa Lathan and Morris Chestnut, just to name a few. She gives back to the community by volunteering for Josefa Salinas’ “How to Be a Girl Camp” and mentors at “Rooted for Life Mentoring Program” where she earned the award, “Mentor of the Year” two years in a row.
Ashley Caprice started her blog in 2010 to share her thoughts on different topics. In her spare time, she could be caught attending concerts, cooking, blogging, traveling and inspiring others.
